Mixed results for local hockey teams during a busy weekend

The Tisdale Trojans split two games at home against the Saskatoon Contacts in AAA action this weekend.

The Trojans fell 5-4 in a heartbreaker on Saturday, with the Contacts scoring the game winner with 56 seconds left.

Dryden Eckstrom, Oliver Homstol, Carter Hudyma, and Jeff Prpich scored for Tisdale, and Jackson Dunn made 42 saves.

The Trojans bounced back with a 4-3 decision on Sunday.

Camryn Aebig scored twice, including the game winner with under five minutes to play.

Jeff Prpich and Logan Edwards also scored, and Wyatt Fleischhacker stopped 13 of 16 shots for the Trojans.

Tisdale is now 16-17-2-0 on the season, and they will head to Yorkton on Friday.

In the PJHL, the Carrot River Outback Thunder also split their games this weekend.

They lost 6-0 to the Saskatoon Westleys and edged the Saskatoon Quakers 5-4.

Kooper Wallington and Lukas Tuplin both scored twice for the Thunder, with Nolan Holmen netting the other Carrot River goal.

Dominic Smith made 27 saves.

Carrot River is in Saskatoon to face the Westleys on Friday.

The North East U18 AA Wolfpack lost both weekend games.

They lost 4-3 to the Saskatoon Crunch on Saturday.

Jonas Markwart, Ryder Bleile, and Ethan Janzen scored the goals for the Wolfpack, who couldn’t hold their 3-1 lead.

Kane Huston stopped 38 shots for North East.

On Sunday, the Wolfpack dropped a 3-1 decision to Prince Albert.

Taylor Coleman scored the lone Wolfpack goal, and John Gall made 55 saves in a losing cause.

They will visit Humboldt on Wednesday.
