Time to start another streak

Mustangs visit Ice Wolves for just second time this season

Feb 3, 2026 | 1:57 PM

The Melfort Mustangs are on the road once more on Tuesday, as they head to La Ronge to take on the Ice Wolves.

This evening’s visit is just the second to La Ronge this season for Melfort, as their previous trip was postponed.

The Mustangs are 4-0 against the Ice Wolves this season, outscoring them 19-6.

The Stangs’ only previous game in La Ronge this year saw them win 3-1, way back on Sept. 23.

The Blue and Green are coming off a 4-0 loss at the hands of the Nipawin Hawks this past Friday, which in turn saw them have their six-game point streak snapped.

The Ice Wolves, meanwhile, last played on Wednesday, dropping a 5-4 decision to the Warman Wolverines.

Melfort was also supposed to play last Saturday; however, their game against the Weyburn Red Wings was postponed.

The Mustangs will look to restart their point streak this evening, as they’re still chasing down a playoff spot, now seven points behind the eighth-place team.

Fortunate enough for the Blue and Green is that they have the second-most games remaining in the SJHL.

Puckdrop Tuesday is slated for 7:30 p.m.
