Man injured in shooting on Red Earth Cree Nation

Carrot River RCMP are investigating a shooting on Red Earth Cree Nation.

A man was taken to hospital with injuries described as non-life threatening. 

The investigation determined a grey Chevrolet Impala approached the victim and a firearm was discharged, injuring the man. 

It’s believed there were two people in the vehicle, which fled the scene. 

“Carrot River RCMP are actively working to locate the suspects,” an RCMP news release stated. “Updates will be provided when possible. If an imminent risk to public safety is identified, we will notify the public.”
