Mysterious substance alert remains in Battlefords area

Mar 4, 2026 | 11:47 AM

An alert issued yesterday by Battlefords RCMP remains in effect today as various government agencies work to get more information.

The Saskatchewan Health Authority issued a bulletin this morning but did not have any new details to add.

Police have received reports of multiple deaths with a possible connection to an as of yet unidentified drink.

Along with police, the Saskatchewan Coroner Service is in the preliminary stages of finding out if the substance and the deaths are connected.

The alert is being issued without more details in the interests of public safety. People are being urged to not consume any unknown substances. As always, it is recommended to keep naloxone on hand in case of overdose. The alert expires March 11.

People can also get drug testing supplies and can go to www.saskatchewan.ca/overdose to find locations.
