The Nipawin and District Regional Park has been evacuated due to an elevated fire risk.

The park was closed late Friday afternoon, and evacuees were directed to supports available at the United Church in Nipawin.

“For those who were visiting our community and camping at the Regional Park, Central Park is available as an alternate camping location,” the Town of Nipawin said. “Please note that Central Park offers 15-amp power service only.”

The Town added that there are rooms available at the Kingfisher Inn and Nipawin Motor Inn.

“We would like to extend our sincere thanks to our firefighters and emergency crews who are working tirelessly to keep our community safe,” the post read.

Evacuees and local residents were thanked for their patience, cooperation, and support amid the situation, and the Town vowed to share any updates as information becomes available.
