Two RCMP officers seriously injured in shooting in Melville, suspect arrested
Two Saskatchewan RCMP officers were seriously injured in a shooting in Melville on Sunday night.
According to police, the shooting happened while officers were responding to a report of an assault at a home on Eighth Avenue West in the community southwest of Yorkton at around 9:35 p.m.
“As officers arrived at the scene, a firearm was discharged, and two Melville RCMP officers were struck,” the RCMP said in a statement.
“Both officers were transported to hospital by EMS with injuries described as serious in nature.”
