Wolverines repeat feat, greet North Stars with defeat

Oct 21, 2026 | 1:14 AM

It was a different night but the same result as the Warman Wolverines defeated the Battlefords North Stars 6-2 on Tuesday for their second four-goal home win over their division rival in four nights.

Six different players found the net and Trey Markus tallied three points to retake the SJHL scoring lead as the Wolverines completed a perfect homestand with their fourth consecutive victory.

After setting a new franchise record with a seven-goal outburst in the second period of Saturday’s 8-4 win, Warman once again did much of its damage in the middle frame, scoring four times to take control of the rematch.

Wolverines captain Owen Parks opened the scoring with the only goal of the first period before the home side shifted into high gear.

Ashton Lee netted his third goal in two games on a Warman power play two minutes into the second. Finlay Klippenstein responded for Battlefords just 22 seconds later but a short time later, Noah Derouin scored his first goal as a Wolverine to restore the two-goal lead.

Markus added another power play marker midway through the frame and Peyton Allard capped off the productive period with his fourth of the season to put Warman ahead 5-1 after forty minutes.

Cole Hines drew the North Stars within three just over six minutes into the third but any hope of a Battlefords comeback was snuffed out shortly thereafter as Nate Crashley finished off his third chance on a shorthanded rush.

The Wolverines are now 3-0 against the North Stars this season and have won five of their last six contests overall to improve to a league-best 9-2-0-2. Battlefords has lost six consecutive games to fall to 2-7-1-0.

Warman will play five of its next six games on the road starting with a trip north to face the La Ronge Ice Wolves on Oct. 24 at 7:30 p.m. Listen to every Wolverines home and away game on SaskNow.com.
