Five people arrested in connection to Fort Macleod death
FORT MACLEOD, AB — Alberta RCMP arrested five people on May 13, 2022 in relation to a homicide.
Lane Tailfeathers was reported missing by his family on June 20, 2021 when he didn’t return to his home in Fort Macleod. One month later, on July 20, 202,1 Crowsnest Pass RCMP received a report from Alberta Fish and Wildlife of possible human remains that were located in a rural area.
When members of the Crowsnest Pass RCMP detachment confirmed they were human remains, the Alberta RCMP Major Crimes and the RCMP Forensic Identification Services were tasked with examining the scene.
The investigation resulted in the identification of the deceased as 35-year-old Tailfeathers. The death was deemed suspicious and Alberta RCMP Major Crimes took over the investigation.
