New trial dates set for aggravated assault case

There has been another delay for a Prince Albert court case relating to a violent incident that happed last summer in the East Flat.

Dylan Bennett, who is facing a charge of aggravated assault, was originally scheduled to face trial this week, but new dates have been set for Sept. 23 and Sept. 26.

Not guilty pleas were entered last December.

On the evening of July 31, 2021, police were called to an address in the 800 block of Second Street East.

A 23-year-old man was found suffering with life-threatening injuries and later transported to hospital in Saskatoon where he spent some time in a coma.

Police have previously indicated Bennett was known to the victim. He’s currently in custody serving a 21-month sentence for an unrelated assault.
