Police investigating two armed robberies at convenience stores

Police believe a pair of recent armed robberies in Prince Albert could be connected.

The first robbery happened Tuesday, just before 11:30 a.m.

Officers on Patrol responded to a call involving a robbery at a convenience store on Central Avenue and 19th Street. One man allegedly threatened staff with a knife while demanding money and lottery tickets before leaving.

Police said the suspect is 5’8” tall and approximately 150 pounds. He was wearing a black bunnyhug with a fish skeleton outlined on the back, black pants, white Adidas shoes, a blue and white hat, and a white medical mask.

Meanwhile, the second robbery happened around 1:00 a.m., Wednesday at a store along 27th Street. and 15 Avenue East. Police allege a man entered the store holding a knife and left with cash and lottery tickets.

The suspect in this robbery was wearing a blue and white hat, white shoes, a light-coloured bunnyhug, and black jacket, and black pants.

Thankfully, no one was injured in either case.

Due to the possible connection between the two robberies, police are warning the public and businesses to be cautious and stay alert.

Staff are encouraged to work in pairs and keep the interior and entries well lighted and report any suspicious activity to police.
