Johnny Reid performing in North Battleford this fall

The Dekker Centre Board of Directors is excited to celebrate its 10-year anniversary with a special concert in the fall.

Johnny Reid will perform in An Intimate Evening on Sept. 2, as part of his Love Someone Tour that entails more than 120 shows. The tour is highlighting Reid’s 11^th studio album, in a career that numerous awards from Canadian Country Music.

“The pandemic has taught me a lot about the value of time,” Reid said in a release. “I’ve given a lot of thought about how and where I want to spend my time.”

Having Reid in a more intimate concert experience is specifically designed to make the 10-year anniversary special pop for audiences. Colin James was the first artist to perform on the Gordon Tootoosis Memorial State back on Step. 22, 2012.

“I’m really excited to bring this tour to as many places as possible and I can’t wait to reconnect with all of the people that have supported me all of these years in a more intimate concert experience,” Reid said.

The rest of the Dekker Centre Presents’ series will be announced later this summer, with more events expected than last year since pandemic restrictions have been lifted. Those looking to purchase tickets will have to wait until 10:00 a.m. on Friday, when the Dekker Centre Box Office opens.
