Jul 28, 2022 | 11:08 AM

More than 40 years after he disappeared, police are still searching for a missing Prince Albert man.

On July 28, 1980, Robert Wiggins was dropped off at a home on 11th Street East and Fifth Avenue just before sunrise by some close friends.

That was the last time, anyone ever saw him.

Police said Wiggins had connections to Edmonton at the time of his disappearance.

“His disappearance has caused immense pain as his family and friends continue to cope with the stress of not knowing what happened to their loved one,” Prince Albert police said in a release. “Police continue to investigate and are once again appealing to the public for information to help locate Robert Wiggins.”

In the summer or fall after his disappearance, Wiggins’s wallet was found along Highway 16 near Radisson and turned into Radisson RCMP.

The wallet still contained $300 in cash and a cheque made out to Wiggins for $67.60. The wallet was later returned to his home address.

Police are releasing a photo of the wallet in the hopes that someone will remember finding it near Radisson in 1980, or have information on his whereabouts. Today, Wiggins would be 70 years old.

At the time of his disappearance, Wiggins stood 5-10 and weighed 180 pounds.

If you have information about his disappearance, please contact police at 306-953-4222 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
