Team Saskatchewan managed a bronze medal finish at the 2022 Niagara Canada Summer Games on Saturday, escaping with a narrow 6-5 victory over Team B.C.

Among those who won a medal were four local athletes from in and around the Humboldt area, including two from Muenster and one from Marysburg.

The four athletes, Cam Marshak (Humboldt), Joel Bauml (Marysburg), Adam Korte and Merek Yeager (both Muenster) helped guide Saskatchewan to their fourth medal in baseball at the Canada Games.

The game was tied heading into the final inning where Team Sask. was able to put up two runs on B.C. and Korte was called in from the bullpen to close out the game. He struck out one batter in one inning pitched to earn the save and secure the bronze for Saskatchewan.
