Man shot in leg; police say public safety not at risk

A 27-year-old man is in hospital after being shot in the leg Thursday morning.

Battlefords RCMP were called around 5:30 a.m. for multiple reports of shots fired. When they arrived on scene, they found the victim who walked to a neighbours house for help. He was transported to hospital by STARS air ambulance for serious, but non-life threatening injuries.

Police said their initial investigation has determined that the victim and two suspects are know to each other and there is no threat to public safety at this time.

RCMP Forensic Identification Services is assisting Battlefords police with the ongoing investigation.
