Federal government contributes $785,000 for M.L. policing initiatives
The federal ministry of corrections, policing and public safety will contribute $785,000 to the city’s policing initiatives through the municipal police grants program next year.
The grant will fund seven police positions in the city.
“Public safety and community policing initiatives are a priority for our government,” Trade and Export Minister and Meadow Lake MLA Jeremy Harrison said on behalf of Minister of Corrections, Policing and Public Safety Christine Tell. “This investment demonstrates our commitment to providing local police services with the resources they need to keep our communities safe.”
The grants program supports community policing.
