Last accused pleads guilty to Garrioch homicide

The last person to face charges in connection with the homicide of Alan Garrioch near Bruno has pleaded guilty.

Jodie Lynn Veilleux entered guilty pleas at what was to be the start of her trial in Saskatoon Court of King’s Bench.

Veilleux’s charges came from her participation in confining Garrioch’s girlfriend and the break and enter to the residence in Humboldt.

She will next appear in King’s Bench court on February 9 for submissions on the length of sentence she should receive.

Last August, Steven Veilleux was sentenced to life in prison for manslaughter in Garrioch’s death in 2020.

Tristan Morrison was given 18 years after being convicted of first-degree murder in the same jury trial that saw Steven Veilleux convicted.

Brettin Veilleux-Pelletier was given an 18-year prison sentence for his role and conviction for manslaughter and kidnapping. He is the son of Steven Veilleux.

Josh Canavero, who was also convicted of kidnapping for his role, received an eight-year sentence.

Morrison was the former boyfriend Garrioch’s girlfriend, which started a string of issues that included increasing violence such as blowing up a vehicle and both Morrison and Garrioch participating.
