Former Raiders captain Allan makes emotional return to Prince Albert
The last time Nolan Allan was at the Art Hauser Centre as a visitor, he was playing AAA hockey for the Saskatoon Blazers. Now he’ll make what’s sure to be an emotional return to the building as a member of the Seattle Thunderbirds.
Allan spent 162 games over the course of five seasons as a member of the Prince Albert Raiders and served as their captain this season before being dealt to Seattle on November 16, 2022. With the Thunderbirds making their first trip to Prince Albert in four years, Allan stepped into the rink through the visitors’ entrance.
“It’s pretty weird,” said Allan. “Getting here last night, unloading our gear in the away room, and checking out the rink from the away bench was pretty weird, for sure. It’s going to be different tonight.”
It’s tough to say what exactly Allan will be feeling when he takes the warmup, but after so many years and so many memories with the Raiders, it’s safe to say it will be an emotional night.
