Mintos make it four in a row with dominant 6-1 win over Stars

NORTH BATTLEFORD, Sask.,– The Prince Albert Mintos continued to surge on Wednesday night as they downed the Battlefords Stars 6-1 at the Access Communication Centre.

The win is the fourth in a row for the Mintos who also toppled the Saskatoon Contacts and Yorkton Secon Maulers during this stretch.

Roper Blanchard led the scoresheet for P.A., netting himself a goal and a pair of helpers. That was enough to earn the game’s Mintos’ Player of the Game award. Scott McLean also had a multi-point effort with a goal and assist while Logan Beebe, Kelan Simmonds, Owen Nelson, and Logan Pickford each found the back of the net in the game.

Mintos’ rookie and affiliated player Bronson Parker captured his first point in the league with a late assist in the third period. Konnor Watson, Raydr Wallington, Ashton Tait, Nolan Patterson, and Carter Cole also potted assists in the game.

Trey Penrod had the lone goal in the game for the Stars, while Tyce Penrod and Ethan Sautner both collected the assists on the play.

Jayden Kraus stopped 29 shots in the game to collect win number 10 and help PA improve to 18-16-0-3 on the campaign.

Brady Carr was credited with the loss where he made 32 saves as Battleford now falls to 8-26-0-4 on the season.

The Mintos are back at it Friday night when they welcome the league-best Saskatoon Blazers to the Art Hauser Centre.
