Stars concede final game of U18 AAA season after game interrupted by water leak

After a water leak at the Art Hauser Centre forced an early end to the tightly-contested game between the Battlefords Stars and Prince Albert Mintos Wednesday night, questions floated in the air on how the final 10 minutes would be made up.

The Stars answered those questions as they graciously conceded the game. The Mintos had a 3-2 lead at the time of the wet interruption, and have now been officially awarded with the regulation win.

The Mintos sit in eighth place with two games remaining in the Saskatchewan Male U18 AAA Hockey League standings. The Stars’ season is now complete, as they finished with a 10-30-0-4 record.

Fans at the game said a deflected puck was the cause of the leak.
