PRINCE ALBERT, SK – The Prince Albert Raiders couldn’t complete the home-and-home sweep on Saturday night when they were downed by the Saskatoon Blades 3-1 at the Art Hauser Centre.

The loss comes less that 24 hours after edging the same Blades squad in a thrilling 6-5 overtime win.

Jayden Wiens, Brandon Lisowsky, and Jake Chiasson had the goals for Saskatoon while Lisowsky also tallied an assist. Egor Sidorov, Trevor Wong, Josh Pillar and Tanner Molendyk were the other assist getters for the Blades.

Ryder Ritchie was the lone goal scorer for PA while Justice Christensen and Sloan Stanick had the helpers on the play.

Max Hildebrand made 22 saves in the loss where the Raiders fall to 24-29-3-0 on the campaign.

Ethan Chadwick turned aside 24 shots to help Saskatoon improve to 38-13-4-1 on the year.

COMPLETE BOX SCORE

The Raiders found themselves in a 3-0 hole after the first period courtesy of a pair of powerplay goals from Wiens and Chaisson with Lisowsky adding another insurance marker midway through the period.

The shutout lasted through the second and into the third where just 90 seconds into the final frame Prince Albert managed to find the back of the net. Christensen’s point shot was deflected in front by a diving Blades defender before Ritchie collected the loose puck and fired it upstairs to cut into the deficit.

But that’s as close as the Raiders would get as they fall 3-1 to Saskatoon.

Prince Albert is back in action Tuesday night when they host the Red Deer Rebels for the final time this season. Puck drop is slated for 7pm.
