High water advisory leads to park closure
A potential for the North Saskatchewan River water levels to increase substantially in the next few days has led to the temporary closure of the Little Red River Park north of the city.
City of Prince Albert staff said that the closure will start from the Highway 55 access to the Cosmo Lodge and include the lodge itself.
“The decision to reopen the closed section will be made on Thursday morning after a thorough evaluation of the most reliable flow-rate data and an on-site visit. We prioritize the safety of our residents and aim to guarantee that conditions are suitable for public access before reopening,” Tim Yeaman, parks and open spaces manager, said.
There is also ongoing construction in the area with the work on the new adventure park.
