Broom handle used during violent incident: court

According to court records, a man’s weapon of choice to assault two people was a broom handle.
Jay Ahenakew, 44, has received a one-year jail sentence for his actions on May 31 outside the Prince Albert Wal-Mart. The sentencing hearing was held on July 6 at Prince Albert Provincial Court.
With credit for time spent in remand, he has roughly 10 months left to serve.
At the time of the incident, police initially said there had been a stabbing in the parking lot area. One witness told paNOW there was blood splatter on their vehicle.
