Melfort and District Museum set to showcase exhibit featuring northeast archaeologist
The Melfort and District Museum is bringing in a special collection of artifacts from a northeast archaeologist.
A presentation on Aug. 1 will feature the work of late amateur archaeologist Victor Vigrass.
Gailmarie Anderson, curator at the Melfort and District Museum told northeastNOW that this collection is special due to how close the site is to Melfort.
“Because we are so close to his sites where he collected in the Pathlow area, they have graciously allowed the sampling to be housed at our Museum in our Indigenous Peoples and Archaeology Building.”
