The La Ronge Ice Wolves will welcome a new face to their locker room for the coming season.

The team announced on Friday that 2004-born defenceman Jamieson Franz has signed of letter of intent.

Franz spent last season in the KIJHL with the Columbia Valley Rockies where he had 21 points and 30 penalty minutes in 33 regular season games.

“He’s a very reliable defenceman,” said Ice Wolves Head Coach and GM Kevin Kaminski. “He’s tough to play against in his own zone, but he moves the puck well and will supply some offence. We’d like to welcome Jamieson to the Ice Wolves.”

“I’m grateful to get the opportunity to sign with the La Ronge Ice Wolves,” added Franz. “I’m extremely excited to be part of this organization. I’m looking forward to helping contribute to the team’s success next season by bringing a hard-working and positive mindset.”

The Ice Wolves will soon be back on the ice as they begin training camp on Sept. 5
