Raiders deal Pakkala to Lethbridge for 2027 draft pick

A longtime member of the Prince Albert Raiders is heading to Lethbridge.

On Wednesday, the team announced it traded Hayden Pakkala to the Lethbridge Hurricanes in exchange for a third round draft pick in 2027.

Pakkala played 166 games with the Raiders after bring acquired from the Winnipeg ICE in 2021.

He registered 23 goals and 36 assists and 187 penalty minutes.

Before his days in the WHL, Pakkala spent several years in his hometown of Okotoks, Alta. with the Oilers U15 and U16 programs.

His best season came in 2019/2020 with U16 AAA Oilers where he scored 92 points. He won the Alberta Cup with Team Red in 2019.

The Raiders are back in action on Friday night as they welcome the Victoria Royals to the Art Hauser Centre.
