Prince Albert RCMP are charging a 19-year-old woman for allegedly pointing a firearm at officers.

On Sunday afternoon, police received a report of a robbery at a home in Little Red River.

They claim an altercation had broken out between two women and a man. During the altercation, the man pointed a firearm at one of the women and ended up stealing cash from her.

After arriving at the home, officers saw a woman in the driveway pointing a firearm at them. She ended up going back inside the home, never discharging the weapon.

“Our officers face numerous different threats and forms of endangerment on a daily basis and having a firearm pointing at you while you are responding to an emergency situation is one of the most significant of those threats,” said S/Sgt. Stephen Hurst, the Non-Commissioned Officer in charge of the Prince Albert detachment.

Officers eventually arrested five people inside the home, while also seizing one firearm.

Charlotte Cook is now facing several charges including pointing a firearm and assault on a police officer with a weapon.

A 30-year-old man was also charged with pointing a firearm and assault with a weapon.

The three others, two men and a woman, were arrested on outstanding warrants from the Prince Albert and Saskatoon Police Services.
