A Lac La Ronge woman has become an instant millionaire!

Mary Caisse of Lac La Ronge Indian Band Reserve was awarded $1,006,667.68 after winning the grand jackpot on Vault Breaker at Eddie’s Place in La Ronge on January 22.

“I sat at the VLT machine as my husband played pool,” said Caisse in a media release issued Friday.

“I wasn’t paying much attention to what was happening, but when four Vault Breaker symbols fell in a row, I knew I had won something decent.”

“The last symbol kept spinning and spinning – it felt like it took forever to land,” she continued, laughing. “When it finally fell in place, I yelled for my husband to come over.”

The winner said she and her husband had a lot of feelings after seeing the prize amount.

“We started crying,” she explained. “We cried, we laughed – shocked, happy tears!” The winner said she has a few ideas for her windfall. “We’re going to buy a house and share with our family,” she said. “Just being able to help everyone get settled and more financially set up, that’s a dream come true.”

Vault Breaker is a wide-area progressive that links 4,200 VLTs located in approximately 570 sites in 270 communities across the province. There are three mystery jackpot tiers: the province-wide grand jackpot has a minimum value of $500,000 and pays out before it hits $1.5 million.

The province-wide jackpot has awarded $37,717,757.79, to 40 winners since June 2017. Vault Breaker’s province-wide grand jackpot has now been reset to $500,000.
