La Ronge Ice Wolves assistant coach Kyle Schneider will represent Saskatchewan in October at the 2024 Western Hockey League (WHL) Cup in Red Deer, Alta.

He’s been named video coach for Saskatchewan’s male under-16 team.

From Prince Albert, he spent the last three seasons with the La Ronge Ice Wolves as the assistant coach. He previously played three seasons of junior hockey with the Selkirk Steelers, Melfort Mustangs, and the Ice Wolves.

“It’s an honour to be named to the Saskatchewan coaching staff at the 2024 WHL Cup,” Schneider said in a release.

“I’d like to thank Hockey Saskatchewan for giving me this opportunity.”

The Ice Wolves are back in action Friday night at home when they open a weekend series with the Melville Millionaires at the Mel Hegland Uniplex.

The Ice Wolves currently have 14 wins and 29 losses for 32 points. They are sitting in 11th place in the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League standings.
