The Saskatchewan Party has nominated their candidate for the Humboldt-Watrous constituency.

Racquel Hilbert defeated two other candidates Thursday night to be the nominee in the riding in this fall’s provincial election.

She looks to replace long-time SaskParty MLA and cabinet minister Donna Harpauer, who is retiring.

“Thank you everyone for your support here tonight, and I hope I can count on your vote this fall,” Hilbert said in a SaskParty news release. “I am ready, listened and engaged with members across the Humboldt- Watrous Constituency. I pledge to advocate and speak on behalf in the legislature.”

Hilbert worked as a special education teacher for over 20 years before founding Wolverine Drilling Inc, a Humboldt-based company.

She earned a Bachelor of Education degree from the University of Saskatchewan in 2003 and later a post-grad degree in Psychology and Special Education. Hilbert also completed the Civil Engineering Water Resources Tech program from SaskPolytech.

Hilbert hails from Humboldt and lives there with her husband and four children.
