Four arrested after traffic stop, drugs found in vehicle

Four adults were arrested after local RCMP stopped a vehicle in which drugs were located.

The investigation when police were tipped off to a suspicious vehicle in the RM of Garden River on July 21 around 4 p.m.

The vehicle was located on Highway 302, but when officers attempted a traffic stop, the vehicle did not stop and fled toward Prince Albert.

After, the officers found the vehicle parked on a service road. Three women and a man were arrested at the scene. Roughly 22 grams of MDMA and drug trafficking paraphernalia were located in the vehicle. Police also seized 155 grams of meth and roughly six grams of fentanyl the man tried to hide in his pants.

Police Dog Services located a discarded can of bear spray and a modified rifle in the ditch, close to where the four people were arrested.

Brennan Sewap, 34, was charged with flight from peace officer, failure or refusal to comply with alcohol demand, operation while prohibited, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, and possession for the purpose of trafficking.

Lacey Bear, 20, Leigh Takakenew, 34, and Marlena Thomas, 27, are each charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking, and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.

All accused appeared in court yesterday, July 23.
