A suspect in a local armed robbery will have his show cause hearing next week.

23-year-old Bohdey Bussiere will appear via video Oct. 3 at Melfort Provincial Court.

Bussiere faces three counts of property obtained by crime and one count of unlawful possession of a firearm in connection to an armed robbery at a rural home in the RM of Spalding Sept. 16.

RCMP say two armed men wearing masks entered the home and pointed their guns at two people inside, stealing two guns and electronics.

The other suspect in the case, 34-year-old Joseph “Joey” Desjarlais, died after a police pursuit this week.

Shots were fired prior to his death, but police didn’t say who fired the shots.

The circumstances surrounding his death are under investigation by the Serious Incident Response Team.

Desjarlais was also wanted for robberies in Foam Lake, Wadena, and Yorkton.
