Warrant issued for suspect after no-show in Melfort Provincial Court

A bench warrant has been issued for a man facing a number of firearms and other charges.

Creedon Dipaolo of James Smith Cree Nation was supposed to appear in Melfort Provincial Court on Monday, but didn’t show.

Dipaolo was charged after an incident in Kinistino Aug. 2.

Melfort RCMP received a call about people drinking in a parked vehicle in Kinistino that evening, and officers spotted the vehicle after a patrol and conducted a traffic stop.

The driver didn’t initially stop but pulled over a short time later.

The man was arrested and prohibited firearms in the vehicle were seized.

Dipaolo faces several charges, including impaired driving, assault, and five firearms and weapons-related offenses.
