North Battleford election: Advance polls dates and voters support options

The North Battleford municipal election is just around the corner on Nov. 13 and all the candidates are going door-to-door to share their visions to get as much support as possible.

As the campaign trails are in full swing, advance polls dates have been set for community members to support the candidates they resonate with the most.

It will take place at the Don Ross Centre Gym on the following dates:

Nov. 2 , 12 p.m. – 6 p.m.

Nov. 7, 2 p.m. – 8 p.m.

Nov. 9 , 12 p.m. – 6 p.m.

According to the City of North Battleford, eligible voters who are off the provincial voter registry can register at the polling station. When arriving at the polls, all voters must show two identification pieces, including one photo ID.

Individuals without identification and stay at a shelter or facility.

In that case, the Elections North Battleford team can assist by providing a “Certification of Identity and Residence” form. An administrator from the shelter or facility can complete this form, verifying the individual’s identity and confirming their dates of stay.

Individuals who don’t have identification.

A family member who lives with them can assist them. This family member, whether an immediate or close extended relative, can complete the “Vouching for Identity” form and accompany the voter to the polling station with their ID, as outlined in Subsection 17(2) of the Local Government Elections Act Regulations.

Voters who are Battlefords Handi-Bus clients

They may call 306-445-7797 to book free accessible transportation to attend the Advance Polls. Transportation for the Nov. 2 and 7 advance polls must be booked by Nov. 1 at 12 p.m., and transportation for the Nov. 9 advance poll must be booked by Nov. 8 at 12 p.m.

Forms are available to help voters experiencing disability complete their ballots either alone or with the assistance of a friend or caregiver.
