Fire destroys house in R.M. of Torch River

A house has been razed by fire in the R.M. of Torch River.

The Nipawin Fire Department was called to the blaze just after 3 p.m. Wednesday.

The department said on their social media pages that two engines, a tanker, and 11 firefighters responded to the house, which was fully engulfed in flames when they arrived.

Crews stayed on the scene for several hours to douse some hot spots and do some salvage work.

The department thanked the RCMP for helping to pull propane tanks and other items away from the fire, and North East EMS, SaskEnergy, and SaskTel for their assistance.
