Eggsmart: The new take on breakfast

Nov 21, 2024 | 11:44 AM

Breakfast is often called the most important meal of the day.

Many studies have linked eating breakfast to good health, including better memory and concentration and lower levels of heart disease. So – you could say eating breakfast is actually…smart.

Now, there’s a new restaurant in Prince Albert that offers sensible breakfasts, all at an affordable cost, to help kickstart your day.

Introducing….Eggsmart!

It’s a casual dining experience that provides a delicious twist on classic breakfast, brunch or lunch.

“My business colleagues and I wanted to bring a different option to Prince Albert; nothing with pizza or fast food,” said partner Sam Vaidya.

The Eggsmart franchise is the first one in Saskatchewan. It’s a Canadian company that takes social responsibility seriously.

“We commit to doing the right thing for our customers and for the environment. We work with suppliers whose practices align with our values and that includes environmentally friendly packaging and in-store finishes that focus on the conservation of energy,” said Vaidya.

“And we value how animals are processed. We are proud that 100 per cent of the eggs served at Eggsmart are from cage-free sourcing.”

The menu options are plenty, but not overwhelming, which means customers can have confidence that the chefs excel in what they offer. Like any new business startup, there have been a few hiccups along the way during these last few opening months, but Vaidya is confident customers who try Eggsmart will appreciate their unique take on breakfast dishes and the affordable prices. Specials include a classic breakfast featuring two eggs and a protein, like double smoked bacon or sausage links, served with thick toast, signature home fries and seasonal fruit garnish. You’ll find a traditional steak and eggs combo on the menu, as well as dishes with Mexican flair including the Barbacoa Fiesta – a cheddar cheese omelette topped with braised beef barbacoa, Pico De Gallo, and avocado.

The kids can enjoy chicken strips or a burger while the parents indulge in Banana Foster’s French Toast.

“I’d say we also have the best looking and tasting pancakes in town, especially once they’re garnished with things like fresh fruit and whipped topping,” said Vaidya. “And, our portions are big.”

Eggsmart Prince Albert is located at 3130 2nd Ave. in what used to be the Pizza Hut. The hours of operation are Monday to Friday 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. and on the weekends from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Follow the Facebook page for more information about their deals and details on seasonal specials.
