Caution urged for drivers as slippery conditions prevail in North Battleford following snowfall

As the first snowflakes hit the ground, the City of North Battleford advised the community, especially motorists, to travel safely.

The Director of Protective Services for the City, Chief Lindsay Holm points out that when the snow hits the pavement, it melts and then freezes, creating dangerously slippery conditions.

Drivers are encouraged to take extra precautions by reducing their speed and staying vigilant for pedestrians. It’s important to allow ample time and space when coming to a stop.

Earlier this afternoon, city road crews were dispatched to start applying sand to the roads to improve traction.
