Four people appeared in Loon Lake Provincial Court Friday after facing multiple counts of weapons and drug charges.

According to police, Loon Lake RCMP received reports of two stolen vehicles headed northbound on HWY 26 on Nov. 19.

The report stated that the vehicle occupants had a fire arm with them and had pointed it at a man. After patrolling the area, they found one of the cars that matched the descriptions on Ministikwan Lake Cree Nation. As police initiated a traffic stop, the car swerved police and drove towards Pierceland. As police gave chase, the suspects threw gas cans, stereos, a floor mat, bags, and other items out of the car windows, though there was no damage done to police vehicles.

To try and stop the vehicle, a tire deflation device was set up, which the car ran over near Beaver River Bridge and though one of the tires came off, the vehicle kept going and merged onto HWY 55.

After further attempts to stop the car, it drove onto a field, hitting a fence and came to a stop before the four suspects ran on foot. They were arrested shortly afterwards. An investigation led to officers finding and seizing roughly 195 grams of crystal methamphetamine, ammunition, brass knuckles, a hatchet, and drug trafficking paraphernalia in the car and on the suspects.

It was also discovered that earlier that day, the group entered a home on Makwa Sahgaiehcan First Nation and assaulted two men including pointing a firearm at one of them.
