North Battleford election recount: No change

Nov 30, 2024 | 6:38 AM

After a recount this Friday at the Court of King’s Bench in Battleford, it’s official: Nothing has changed. Ross MacAngus will hold another term on North Battleford City Council with 1085 votes.

The count comes after Candidate Alan Wiese lost to MacAngus by just two votes and requested the recount.

According to Justice Grant Currie’s finding, while there were ballots rejected for reasons such as being mismarked, obscured the intent of the voter or only recorded for mayor, the justice officially certified the results and the city’s website will be updated.

City Council will be sworn in Dec. 2.
