Muskoday resident wins ‘Best Christmas Ever’ contest

Dean Bear has a big decision to make: where to spend $5,000 this Christmas.

“I think I’m going to get lots of food. Bacon….lots of bacon.”

Bear was announced as the grand prize winner of Pattison Media’s ‘Best Christmas Ever’ contest Wednesday night. The campaign saw listeners of Power99, 101.5 Beach Radio PA and 900 CKBI enter online.

“Ten people from each radio station were chosen and then we did a reverse elimination draw here tonight during a reception at the Knotty Pine Bistro where the grand prize winner was determined,” said Jocely Bovay, retail sales supervisor for Pattison Media.

Bear can choose to spend his winnings at any of the 24 participating sponsors listed below.

“It’s a really great giveaway that’s going to change someone’s holidays this year, but it also allows us to partner with a lot of great businesses and really promote the shop local initiative that everyone’s always trying to encourage,” said Bovay.

The participating businesses each got airtime on local radio in the weeks leading up to the grand prize draw.

The contest’s runner-up didn’t leave empty handed; they received two weekend passes to Country Thunder as the consolation prize.

Bear isn’t quite sure just yet where he’ll choose to spend his winnings, but he does know the shopping will include bacon.
