Jan 6, 2025 | 12:24 PM

The two suspects charged with first-degree murder in connection with the death of Lyle Night Jr. on Jan. 2 will remain in custody.

Brody Runningaround, 20, made his first appearance in North Battleford Provincial court on Monday morning, and Judge Kevin Hill adjourned him to Jan. 22.

The second suspect, 23-year-old Malyka Nahbexie was scheduled to appear in court later that afternoon; however, her hearing was also adjourned alongside Runningaround to the same date.

They are both alleged responsible for the death of Night Jr. at a house at Saulteaux First Nation. Furthermore, due to the suspicious nature of the death, the investigation is taken over by the Saskatchewan RCMP Major Crimes unit.
