Seven people from North Battleford received the King Charles III Coronation Medal on Thursday for their dedication to community service.

The ceremony took place at the Mainstone Senior Citizens Drop-In Centre, and the medals were presented by Rosemarie Falk, Member of Parliament for Battlefords-Lloydminster.

“An honour to present King Charles III Coronation Medals to exceptional local leaders and community volunteers,” Falk said on a social media post. “Thank you for your dedicated service to our community and country.”

The Coronation Medal celebrates the coronation of His Majesty King Charles III as the King of Canada. Every year, 30,000 medals are awarded, all of which are managed by the Chancellery of Honours at Rideau Hall.

To receive this honour, the recipient must have significantly contributed to Canada or a specific province, territory, region, or community within the country, or they must have achieved an outstanding accomplishment abroad that enhances Canada’s reputation.
