Humboldt Emergency Services Gala quickly approaching

Feb 14, 2025 | 2:00 PM

After a lengthy hiatus, the Humboldt Emergency Services Gala is making its return next week.

The event will be held at the Humboldt Legion Feb. 22. Cocktails will start at 5:30 pm, with supper at 6:30.

Community Safety Officer Justin Tarrant told northeastNOW that the gala used to be an annual event but hasn’t been held since 2017.

“It was a way that the community could come together with all emergency services personnel and just celebrate milestones, what emergency services did that year, what we kind of got up to,” explained Tarrant.

He said this year there are several people celebrating five and 10-year anniversaries, with one member celebrating 30 years, and another with a 40-year milestone. The gala is a way to celebrate the individuals who go above and beyond every day for the community, said Tarrant.

“It’s just a great way that we can intermingle with the community as well,” Tarrant said.

Well over 50 sponsors have signed up to support the event, and Tarrant said everyone has given so generously to help make the gala a success.

“They’ve definitely gone well above and beyond this year and it’s going to be an amazing event,” said Tarrant. “We’re super excited for it.”

While Humboldt is a growing city, Tarrant said it still has that small-town feel, and the Emergency Services Gala is a way to get together and honour one another.

Tickets for the gala are $65 or a table of eight for $520. They are on sale at the Co-op C-Store, but Tarrant said they are going quickly, with fewer than 40 remaining at last count.
