Watson re-elected chief at Mistawasis First Nation

Daryl Watson has been re-elected as chief of Mistawasis First Nation.

As per Monday’s band election results, he received 273 votes.

The runner-up was Steven Johnstone with 186 votes.

There were also 32 people vying for the five council seats and the winners were Lance Badger, Robin Daniels (re-elected), Desiree Dreaver, Louis Ledoux and Kelly Watson.

Watson was first elected in 2015.

Mistawasis has a total population of 3,086 and there’s close to 1,800 voting members living off-reserve.
