Two arrested in La Ronge for cocaine possession

Two people from La Ronge are facing drug trafficking charges after Saskatchewan RCMP apprehended a wanted offender.

An RCMP media release states on May 7 officers located a woman in a vehicle in La Ronge who was wanted on warrants from the La Ronge RCMP, Saskatoon Police Service and Regina Police Service. Her offences included theft of a motor vehicle, driving while suspended and assault with a weapon.

During her arrest, officers observed illicit drugs in plain view in the vehicle. A second male occupant of the vehicle also arrested.

During subsequent searches of the arrested individuals and vehicle, officers located and seized a significant sum of cash, 55 grams of cocaine and additional drug trafficking paraphernalia.

As a result of the investigation, 36-year-old Linda Dumais and 28-year-old Wyatt Dumais are each charged possession for the purpose of trafficking and possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000.

Both individuals appeared in La Ronge Provincial Court on May 8.
