It didn’t take long for a fire to burn through several structures Sunday morning in Nipawin.

The fire department was called around 5:34 a.m. and notified about a fire on the west end of Maple Road. When they arrived, both a shed and garage were fully engulfed in flames and a nearby camper was also starting to burn.

Both trucks had attended the scene. Engine 1 was battling the blaze, but while Engine 2 was hooking up to a hydrant, the fire department received a call about another structure fire on 7th Street West. The second truck dropped its hose and headed to the other location with a rescue crew.

When firefighters arrived, they found the tenants of the home on the front lawn. Crews immediately started attacking the blaze because the house next to it was also starting to burn.

In a post on it’s Facebook page, the Nipawin Fire Department said they were very fortunate to report there were no injuries at either location and all units were back in service before 10 a.m.

The cause of the fires was not released.
