A second Lac La Ronge Indian Band house has been declared a total loss by fire in the matter of days.

Members with the La Ronge Regional Fire Department were called to the scene of a house fire at 4:06 a.m. on Wednesday. Firefighters were on the scene for approximately three hours.

The fire remains under investigation. The cause of the fire is yet to be determined and the fire chief also doesn’t know yet whether it is considered suspicious.

There were no injuries reported as the occupants were able to make it out of the house. During a search of the building, firefighters did locate a dog and cat huddled together under a bed and rescued them.

The total loss of the house follows another destructive house fire which occurred on Sunday.
