Town of Kelvington announces voluntary water restriction

May 30, 2025 | 12:00 PM

Residents in Kelvington are being asked to restrict their water use.

The Town has announced a voluntary water restriction.

“Due to high water demand, the level in the towns’ reservoirs is at risk of becoming lower than acceptable, leading to a water ban,” the town stated in a news release. “Any efforts we make now can help us avoid a full water ban.”

The Town said water is needed for firefighting, health care, cooking, and more.

Residents are being asked to refrain from watering trees, shrubs, and lawns, and washing vehicles, driveways, and home exteriors.

“Please avoid all non-essential water use to help reduce the strain put on the water system,” the release said.
