SaskTel extends fees waiver for wildfire evacuees

Jul 31, 2025 | 11:10 AM

SaskTel is extending its support for customers impacted by ongoing wildfires in northern Saskatchewan.

These supports will now remain in place until August 15 for residents of communities that have been evacuated due to wildfire activity.

“This year’s wildfire season has been especially challenging, displacing thousands of Saskatchewan people from their homes and communities,” said Jeremy Harrison, Minister Responsible for SaskTel. “Through SaskTel, the Government of Saskatchewan is committed to helping families stay connected to loved ones and vital services. By waiving wireless data overage fees and crediting maxTV and home internet charges, we’re working to ease some of the burden during this difficult time.”

As part of these extended measures, SaskTel will:

  • Waive all wireless data overage charges for customers in evacuated communities.
  • Credit charges for SaskTel Internet, maxTV Stream, and Home Phone services for affected customers.

These supports will be applied automatically and will remain in effect as long as a community remains under evacuation due to wildfire conditions until August 15th, 2025. The most current list of eligible communities can be found here.
