Two men face charges after separate incidents in the Wadena area.

The first happened Aug. 6., when Wadena RCMP stopped a vehicle in Kylemore.

The driver didn’t stop for police and pulled into a driveway where he refused to comply with officers’ directions.

The driver was soon arrested and during a search of the man, they discovered 97 grams of cocaine, 27 grams of crack cocaine, and seven grams of methamphetamine.

A further search of the vehicle yielded a set of brass knuckles and a semi-automatic handgun.

A 37-year-old Wadena man faces multiple charges, including drug and weapon possession and resisting arrest.

Wadena RCMP were then called about an impaired driver near the beach on Fishing Lake First Nation early on the morning of Aug. 8.

The suspect vehicle was later found in Wadena and the driver failed to comply with officers’ directions.

He was arrested and inside the vehicle officers found two firearms, one of which was loaded, and several hundred rounds of ammunition.

A 39-year-old man from Fishing Lake First Nation is charged with 17 offenses, including firearm and ammunition possession, having a blood alcohol level over .08, and resisting arrest.
