Trio of P.A. Predators to battle with Team Sask at Canada Games

Three members of the Western Champion Prince Albert Predators are in St. John’s, N.L., for the next seven days to try and help Team Saskatchewan to gold medal glory at the 2025 Canada Summer Games.

Tucker Prodaehl, Sawyer Elphinstone, and Chase Lehner all cracked the roster for Saskatchewan’s box lacrosse team, set to begin play at the Games on Monday afternoon.

Prodaehl and Lehner were rookies on the Predators this past season and were crucial to the team’s provincial and western success, while Elphinstone was listed as an affiliated player and still made an impact.

Lehner finished the Prairie Gold Lacrosse League (PGLL) season among the top for team scoring with 50 points (28G-22A) across just 11 games, spread across the regular season and league playoffs. Meanwhile, Prodaehl was a monster on the defensive end for P.A. and also contributed offensively, netting nine points (4G-5A) in 10 games. Elphinstone appeared in just four games during the regular season for the Predators and managed one assist.

During the MacDonald Cup Western Championship in Abbotsford, B.C., earlier this month, Lehner was among the leading scorers at the tournament, ending with 20 points (8G-12A), including the round robin and playoffs. Prodaehl finished with a goal and two assists during the five games, while Elphinstone saw just one game of action during the round robin.

Additionally, Lehner was named to Canada’s Men’s U19 national team. Lehner and the team will travel around the U.S. later this fall, facing off in a Rivalry Series against U.S. national programs at various colleges and universities across the country, including in Colorado, New York, and Virginia.

As mentioned, Team Saskatchewan will begin their tournament later today against Prince Edward Island. They’ll be back in action tomorrow versus Manitoba, followed by a date with New Brunswick on Wednesday, and they close out the round robin on Thursday against the host, Newfoundland and Labrador.
